Benihana Chelsea is a stunning Japanese restaurant located on Chelsea's famous Kings road
In 1964, there emerged on the fiercely competitive New York restaurant scene a totally new concept in luxury dining. It was called Benihana of Tokyo. Benihana's food preparation methods immediately set it apart from other restaurants, as it had no conventional kitchen. Instead chefs prepared and cooked entrees at a table called a "Hibachi Grill". Since the opening of the first Benihana, Rocky Akoi the founder has natured his theme into a successful international food chain. One of only three Benihana’s in the UK (all are in London) this Chelsea restaurant is located on the social catwalk that is the Kings Road. As you’d expect it is both is glamorous and elegant. Each Hibachi Grill table is delicately lit by candles, but it is your sense of smell that gets most carried away as your chef cooks your chosen dish before you. If you’re here to splash out, order Hibachi Imperial from the Kaiseki Dinner selection. For £52 you will be served around five dishes, with the centrepiece being a pretty special creation of lobster tail and quality cuts of Chateaubriand. The restaurant seats 140, and has both a private dining room, and lounge area for ten. Benihana certainly know how to impress, their style and service entice you and the way they look after you will keep you returning time and time again
