7 Portes restaurant is one of Barcelona’s oldest and most famous restaurants. Located in the Barceloneta district of Barcelona, which is known for it’s great fish and seafood restaurants, the 7 Portes restaurant was built in 1836 and the building itself is classified as a Spanish national monument. Many famous faces have dined at the 7 Portes over the years, including Orson Welles and Ava Gardner as well as famous Spaniards such as Salvador Dali. The 7 dining rooms are all traditional in style with white linens and wooden beamed ceilings and vary in size from a small intimate setting to a large banqueting room. As well as serving one of the best Paellas in Barcelona, the menu includes various rice and seafood dishes to tempt any discerning palate, including Barcelona rice with cheese and ham, Fideua with Prawns and Zarzuela with lobster. Taste the various Catalan specialities on offer such as “Esqueixada” (salt cod salad) or “Escalivada” (grilled sweet peppers and aubergine), not forgetting the Crema Catalana for dessert.
