Rent The Musical tells the story of the two empoverished musicians and artists Mark and Roger and their struggle to survive - and to pay their rent

Based on Puccini's La Boheme, The Broadway hit musical RENT broke convention when it first opened. It was hailed by the New York Times as the return of the musical that dares to "take the culture's temperature and catch its tempo". Over a decade later, that temperature's changed and the biggest names in pop culture have been assembled to create this new production including the creative team behind Kylie Minogue and her recent hit Showgirl tour and pop legends PJ Harvey and Jamiroquai. This highly-anticipated, modern day version of RENT is set to amaze and astound with its young and talented cast, handpicked for their street-edge and pop sensibility. RENT is a ground-breaking rock musical is the story of a group of friends attempting to protect a squatters camp and maintain residency in an East Village building. With powerful performances and a score blending rock, ballads, R&B, and salsa, Rent has reinvented musical theatre.

This production reinvents RENT as the iconic musical. The 90's Rock culture is left behind to take on the 21st century pop club culture and match the tempo of a new millennium generation.

Denise Van Outen will play the role of Maureen. Denise Van Outen became a household name presenting Channel 4's The Big Breakfast with Johnny Vaughn in the late 1990's. She is know known to millions for her theatre and TV roles, appearing as Roxie Hart in both the West End and Broadway productions of Chicago, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tell Me On A Sunday and as a guest presenter on ITV's This Morning. She was also a panelist for the BBC's prime time Saturday night programme, Any Dream Will Do.
